I know I have mentioned this before, it comes up every year. Conkers, horse chestnuts I just never know the difference but I know there is someone out there who will explain. Looking at this picture it reminded me of a rolled up hedgehog or porcupine. Not of course that there are any porcupines in Wanstead but there is the occasional hedgehog.
