WHAT A HOOT...

I was walking along Grosvenor Road last Sunday when I spotted a curious look object on a fire escape on the side of a house. I couldn't quite make out what it was with my naked eye but through the cameras lens I spied an owl. This is quite a find I thought, then I zoomed in and discovered it was just a  model owl. A very clever idea, I suspect to keep away those pesky pigeons...

  1. I have seen owls used even here in Montreal on some buildings, and I have to say that the pigeons are quite intelligent and that we don't give them enough credit. When they see there is no movement from the owl they know it isn't real and aren't scared one bit. LOL! :)

  2. It's true, pigeons are super-intelligent; they are on a similar level to crows, and both birds' intelligence and reasoning power has been found to be on a level of higher than a three year old child's! They are problem solvers, very bright.

    1. Thanks Grace but it would appear from the comments that pigeons are brighter than we thought :)

  7. Looks like this balcony-owner is employing several methods to keep the poo-makers away.

  8. Very interesting blog. A lot of blogs I see these days don't really provide anything that attract others, but I'm most definitely interested in this one. Just thought that I would post and let you know.
