Bank holiday weekend, a smashing Sunday on George Green..

THE BENCH..

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All right reserved

I pass George Green most days on my way to the gallery in Nightingale Lane. I always stop and admire the trees now that they are in leaf, I particularly like the way they frame this bench. Sometimes it's empty, sometimes there is a solitary figure relaxing seated on it, other times people are just passing by like this family. Whatever's happening there's always a little cameo of life, it's a view I always enjoy.

SUNDAY...

I just grabbed this picture from the passenger seat of the car. We were stopped at the new traffic lights by George Green, the composition just appealed to me. Enjoy your Bank Holiday Monday. I am going to the Dogs, I do mean the Wanstead Dog Show.

WANSTEAD WILDLIFE..

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

As I was walking around George Green the other evening on the way home from the Gallery, I spotted this beauty on the forecourt of the excellent Zeeba daycare in Draycot Road. I'm used to seeing the odd fox and squirrel in Wanstead but this character really stood out.

THREE OAKS..

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

This is another photograph taken on George Green, I took it shortly after yesterday's picture, it seemed a shame not to make the most of the light. I've always assumed these trees were planted as a group but as you can see from the picture there appears to be an age difference, youngest on the left etc...

LOW WINTER SUN..

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

I know I said look out for more black and white pictures this week and that was my intention, however, I keep coming across all these gorgeous colours combined with great light. I'll have to wait until it gets a little more gloomy for the black and white shots. I took this picture on George Green the other morning, this low winter sun is great, it has a real clarity for photography. I hope you enjoy the photograph.

DALEK?

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

I saw this traffic bollard parked on George Green the other day. Not quite sure what it was doing there but it probably involved some late night revel involving alcohol. Curiously from a distance it didn't look out of place, sort of like a yellow Dalek checking out Wanstead. Anyway it appealed to me so here's the picture.

END OF THE DAY...

I was on George Green just as the sun was going down, another beautiful Wanstead evening. I don't think I need to say more. Have a good weekend.

DOUBLE VISION...

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

Fabulous weather in Wanstead last Saturday. I was taking a look around George Green and a close look at the old horse trough on the corner, built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. I really admire the clever thinking of the architect giving us this double aspect view of Wanstead.

ON AND ON IT GOES.

Camera in hand and no let up in the bad weather, I was taking pictures when these two hardy souls jogged past me on George Green seemingly oblivious to the cold.

CRAZY WEATHER.

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved.

I did not think that I would take more snow pictures this year but this view of George Green yesterday obviously proved me wrong.  It looks more like the start of Winter rather than the first days of Spring.

INTO THE MIST.

This pathway across George Green prompted another picture of the mist in Wanstead. The composition of this photograph shows the path leading up into the mist and the posts in the foreground give it depth.

PRETTY LIGHTS

Walking across George Green last night the lights in the Belgique, one of the eateries in Wanstead were shining bright and I couldn't resist capturing them on camera.
