I bumped into Father Christmas outside Daisys the florist earlier this morning just after he had finished delivering presents. As you can see from the picture he didn't look too tired after his nights work climbing down and back up chimneys with his sack. Wherever you are in the world have a wonderful holiday together with your families. Spare a thought for the many people in the world who are less fortunate than ourselves, lets hope 2016 brings peace to the world...

Spotted these great Christmas lights as I wandered along the High Street yesterday. They are outside Sumo, the sushi restaurant. I know I have probably said it before but I just love Christmas lights...and I haven't forgotten the Christmas tree on George Green it will appear a little later..

IT'S BEGINNING TO....

......look a lot like Christmas, as they say in the 1951 song written by Meredith Wilson. I spotted this glorious window as I passed through Wellesley Road the other night. The first Christmas lights I have seen this year. Our lovely daughter reminded me last weekend that it's only another six Saturdays and a few days away, a hint perhaps?

SEASONS GREETINGS..

This is one of my favourite Wanstead pictures, the twisted tree on Christchurch Green, apt for this time of the year I thought. Wherever you are in the world Merry Christmas and a happy holiday.

AND A FEW MORE..

Driving home this evening I spotted these Christmas lights. They are a bit different from the usual, kind of like illuminated earrings dangling in the night, great though eh!

PROPER CHRISTMAS LIGHTS..

I do like Christmas lights there's nothing quite like them. I can't imagine the festive season without them. They lift the shops, houses and streets and just make everything feel so warm and cosy. As I walked home the other night I snapped these pictures, look out for more to come !

A DIFFERENT VIEW..

I was wandering along the High Street the other night and stopped to wonder what sort of restaurant we are going to have in the old Irish Bank building. We seem to have most types in Wanstead and I know there is a lot of speculation.
Anyway as I continued along toward Wanstead Station I saw our Christmas tree from this angle, I really liked the view with all the car tail lights, made it look even more festive.

THE WANSTEAD CHRISTMAS TREE PART 2..
Just before you get to see the photographs I have to let you know that we have a new supply of Wanstead Society Calendars in stock. The first batch sold out immediately so don't hesitate they won't last long, at only £6 each they are a great buy for yourself or as a present. All proceeds go the Wanstead Society.

Well you saw the lights being put on yesterday and here it is tonight in all its glory and it looks great, a wonderful seasonal addition to George Green

THE WANSTEAD CHRISTMAS TREE..

I was on my way home last night from an art exhibition in Spitalfields, artist Marc Gooderham who exhibited with us recently had some pictures on show. As I came past Wanstead station these guys were putting the lights on the Wanstead Christmas tree on George Green. I'd better get my letter off to Santa before it's to late.

SANTA CLAUS HAS COME TO TOWN.
He is here, just stopped off to buy flowers. Although it appears he now needs reading glasses, do not worry I am sure all presents are in hand. Just had to photograph this life size santa outside Flora in Wanstead High Street.

There is scaffolding around Christ Church in Wanstead Place and these pictures are very different from the previous one that I posted. However, as you can see from the posters, Crib Service and Midnight Mass with carols welcoming everyone will still take place.

UNDERNEATH THE MISTLETOE.
Mistletoe growing on trees is prevalent in France. It could be happening here as well. This photograph was taken in Charnwood Drive. How did it get there? Despite the blue sky it means that Christmas is on the way.
