HIGH WINDS...

I thought this photograph of the sky was an appropriate picture for today as we wait for the promised high winds and gales tonight. This was taken earlier this week. I think clouds are always fascinating. It was the three layers in the sky that drew my attention, the warm colours at the bottom, then the grey clouds in the centre and finally a little blue sky on top. Let's see what tonight brings.

  1. Hi there; there are several trees felled by the high winds, on Christchurch Green, including a very large one -- you could get a great picture of the massive roots and broken pathway, which is quite dramatic, before they clear it away. It's quite sad to lose such a great old tree, but a remarkable sight to see. Luckily, the "twisted tree" is fine. Best wishes.

  2. Thank you so much for your comment. As you can see from today's pictures I did go up to the green and I agree with you that it is sad but as you say luckily the twisted tree is still there. Best wishes - Geoff
