TOUR DE WANSTEAD...

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

Not quite sure what was happening on Sunday morning, I assume a race of some sort. As we were waiting to pull away from the traffic lights on Hermon Hill we were surrounded by  cyclists, as I say I don't know what the event was but it was a beautiful day for it.

BATH TIME..

I really like this idea, it's a bath with a view, you can lie back covered in bubbles and just relax, it sounds like heaven to me. Of course this is not a real bath it's just a photograph against an upstairs window at the The Radiator and Bathroom Gallery on Hermon Hill.  Oh well never mind, I can dream.

CLARITY.

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

One of the things I love about these sunny winter days is the clarity that it seems to give the light. It brings out the detail in everything particularly buildings as this shot of the Clock Tower of the old Wanstead hospital on Hermon Hill shows. Wonderful detail and workmanship.

GREEN CROSS CODE..

I parked on Hermon Hill the other day to have a look around for pictures. I had only just stepped out of the car when this fox appeared just a few yards away, it had great road sense and didn't cross until it was clear. Just had time to grab this shot before it disappeared across the road.

ANOTHER GREAT SKY...

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

You probably know by now that I have a soft spot for clouds and skies. I stepped out of our Gallery in Nightingale Lane the other evening and saw this wonderful colour in the sky behind the old hospital on Hermon Hill. A lovely end to the working day.

KING NEPTUNE..

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

I photographed the front of the old Wanstead Hospital on Hermon Hill a few months ago. It's such a wonderful building, after being tipped off by a friend I had a wonder around the back earlier today. As you may know before it was a hospital it was originally the Merchant Seamans Orphan Asylum so how fitting that Neptunes Fork resides on the roof.

FORMER MERCHANT SEAMEN'S ORPHAN ASYLUM.

World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved.

This former orphan asylum building is on Herman Hill Wanstead. It was opened in 1863, has been a hospital and is now an apartment building. Seeing it bathed in this beautiful light, it was well worth capturing and I thought I would do a series of pictures showing the architecture and masonry. I have decided to run them over a few days, so keep watching.
