This lovely Morris Minor 1000 pulled up outside the Gallery a couple of weekends ago. I couldn't resist taking a few shots, it was immaculate, obviously the owners pride and joy. Designed by Alec Issigonis, around 1950 for this four door version, I believe he went on to design the world famous 'mini' which is still going strong in it's current form. For a few hours it graces Nightingale Lane whisking us back in time for a while...
... appropriately the end both of the car and the pictures...

DeleteMany years ago my uncle had a Morris Minor. Until I saw your photos I had forgotten that!
ReplyDeleteLoooove it Geoff, oh boy does that bring back memories. My first car was a very old red Morris Minor, how I loved that car... until I unfortunately rolled it one night after too much champagne.. I was young and reckless and as you see I survived to tell the tale :) Thanks for the memories!
ReplyDeleteThe iconic, British economy car...the pride owner...great captured...
ReplyDeleteVery nice car, it's a pleasure to see it!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favourite car to look for when in England. (It is another one that has like parts made out of wood..... that is also on my list of nice old British cars.....) I would have been happy to rent one for a day or two..... but my husband would have had the joy of driving it:) Beautiful images of beautiful details. So pleased you saw it..... just outside your gallery!:) Thanks for sharing.
