HOPEFULLY...

I like many others was sad when the decision was made to close Wanstead Police Station. I passed  the other day to see if anything was happening on the site, as you can see there was plenty of building work going on. I was however delighted to see that the structure of the old police building was still standing, I really hope it stays and is incorporated into the new building scheme. After all it is a Wanstead landmark...

  1. We really need police stations are more police, as this world has so much crime and violence now. I hope it stays somehow as well.

  2. Is it heritage listed Geoff? I thank goodness for the Heritage List here in Perth, I'm sure if it wasn't for the heritage board we would have lost so many of our old buildings! The old police station looks in pretty good condition.

    1. I have a feeling Grace that it's not listed, I just hope they don't change the outside even if the interior becomes flats..

  9. I like the police station's architecture but I can see why the police would want a more modern facility. I agree that it would be great incorporated into another structure.

    1. It's probably true about the facilities, unfortunately our local police stations are now some distance away in case of emergencies. It's also nice to see 'bobbies' on the beat, it's very reassuring...
